Jackson Is CL Swing King

Portsmouth catcher Al Jackson batted .317 to capture the 1981 Colonial League batting championship. The 29-year-old batting star collected 122 hits, 20 doubles, no triples and 14 home runs for the year. In 104 games Jackson totaled 62 RBIs and scored 57 runs.

Consecutive-Game Hit Streak Continues for Harris

Liberty catcher Roland Harris keeps on racking up hits in every game he plays in. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 2 hits in today's game.
"I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out. I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've been a little lucky," said Harris after the Giants 4-2 victory over the Senators. Roland Harris grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
So far on the season Harris is hitting .264 with 18 home runs, 63 RBIs and 64 runs scored. He has 106 hits and played in 105 games.
