Portsmouth Clippers Win World Series

Two titans went head-to-head in this year's Continental Baseball League World Series and only one was left standing at the end -- the Portsmouth Clippers. They eliminated the Mount Sterling Gladiators 4-2 in the series.
In the deciding game today at Arcadia Journal Ballpark, they KO'ed the Mount Sterling Gladiators 4-3 to cop their 1st league title. During the regular season Portsmouth finished first in the Division with a 92-52 record.

Clippers Ullrich Blanks Gladiators

It was a quiet day for the Mount Sterling Gladiators at Arcadia Journal Ballpark today. It was Mark Ullrich, the Portsmouth starting pitcher, who made all the noise. He shut them out 7-0, allowing 3 hits while walking 1 and fanning 8.
Checking out his stats for the year, Ullrich has racked up 17 wins and 8 losses in 32 starts, 2.62 ERA and struck out 219 batters in 230 innings.
