Moore Brilliant, Blanks Senators
Saturday, July 21st, 1990
Kingston starter Derek Moore really did a number on the Senators today, shutting them out 4-0 on 4 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 4 strikeouts.
In his postgame comments, the Capital City manager said, "We didn't have good at-bats. I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting... seeing as our team has a bunch of pretty good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Derek... he did an outstanding job today."
This year Moore has fashioned a 5-2 mark, 2.09 ERA and pitched 69 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .201 against him and he has logged 39 strikeouts.
