Liberty (C) Sweeps Mount Sterling Sunday, September 24th, 1995 The Giants rolled over Mount Sterling 5-2 at M&M's Field to easily win the 1995 World Series crown. Liberty (C) won in a walk and swept the series from the Gladiators 4-0. It was their 3rd championship title. The winning manager praised his own club as well as the opposition, "It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them. The Gladiators are a fine team, but we always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the World Series." The Giants took first place in the Division and rounded out the year with a 83-62 record. |
