Wall Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Tuesday, September 12th, 1995
What a day for Bill Wall of the Liberty (F) Knights! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Fremont pitching apart at Kraft Stadium and sparked the Knights to a 7-6 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Wall told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
Bill Wall singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
Wall is currently hitting at a .243 pace with 5 home runs and 26 RBIs.
