SS Chris Schultz Out Friday, September 8th, 1995 The Newport Navigators learned that Chris Schultz is likely to be out for 2 weeks after he injured himself making a defensive play in today's game against the Park City (C) Patriots. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be an oblique strain. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Newport manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Chris is back in action." This year Schultz is hitting .242 with 8 home runs and 45 RBIs in 111 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .348 with 65 walks and 52 runs scored. |
