Career Ends for Terry
Sunday, August 30th, 1992
Eddie Terry of the Portsmouth Clippers has made it official: he will retire from baseball, effective immediately. Terry had sought a second opinion about a torn labrum. But it only confirmed the earlier diagnosis that put his career in jeopardy. "It made my mind up for me," Terry said. The 30-year-old expressed his gratitude to the organization for their patience during this ordeal. He also thanked the fans for their continuing support.

For the season, Terry is hitting at a .263 clip with 27 home runs, 93 RBIs and has scored 69 runs. He has 102 hits, 37 walks and a .337 on-base percentage.
