Knights Banks Suffers Setback Sunday, August 16th, 1992 Just when it looked like Mal Banks would soon return to the Liberty (F) Knights, the second baseman suffered yet another setback in his recovery from a knee contusion. According to his doctors, treatment was progressing well until yesterday, when Banks experienced quite a bit of pain during a workout. Further examination revealed he had caused more damage and would now be disabled for at least 5 days. This season Banks is swinging the bat at a .324 pace. He has hit 10 home runs and scored 62 times, while driving in 49. His on-base percentage is .385 and he has played in 97 games. |
