Banks and O'Rourke Suspended for Free-for-All
Tuesday, August 4th, 1992
One player challenged the other with some angry words at the Lions-Knights game at Kingston Field yesterday. There was some pushing and shoving -- then the dugouts emptied. There was a lot of scuffling, but no punches thrown. When order was finally restored and the dust settled, the umpires ejected Kingston's Alvin Banks and Liberty (F)'s Bruce O'Rourke.
Now both antagonists will get some time off, courtesy of the league commissioner. They were suspended 4 games for inappropriate and aggressive behavior.
On the year Banks is hitting .290 with 88 hits, 5 home runs, 42 RBIs, .394 OBP and has scored 47 runs.
In 17 starts this year O'Rourke has fashioned a 9-3 record and a 3.07 ERA.
