26-year-old León Juárez sent shock waves through Continental Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Federal League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, Juárez made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .483 average, 14 hits in 29 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 RBI.

Where the Liberty (F) Knights third baseman goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Juárez certainly made his mark last week.

This season in 87 games Juárez is batting .309 with 12 home runs, 59 RBIs and has scored 52 times.
