Portsmouth Clippers Win World Series Tuesday, September 24th, 1991 Two titans went head-to-head in this year's Continental Baseball League World Series and only one was left standing at the end -- the Portsmouth Clippers. They eliminated the Mount Sterling Gladiators 4-2 in the series. In the deciding game today at Arcadia Journal Ballpark, they KO'ed the Mount Sterling Gladiators 4-3 to cop their 1st league title. During the regular season Portsmouth finished first in the Division with a 92-52 record. |
