Today he passed the legendary Tim MacIntosh with his 186th hit, establishing a new league single-season mark. Jones commenting on what his new record means to him, he said, "It means I helped my team win a lot of games this year. That's the important thing." David Jones hit a two-run home run off Chad Hansford in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th and doubled in the 5th. Jones has a .349 average and a .413 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 186 hits, 33 home runs and driven in 105 runs. |
