Player of the Week Trophy to Ríos Monday, August 19th, 1991 Mariano Ríos demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Colonial League Player of the Week Award. The Capital City second baseman wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .400 average (8-20) with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. This season Ríos has hit 17 home runs and posted a .272 batting average. |
