Torres Sets Home Run Record with 39 Friday, August 16th, 1991 Ralph Torres has had a spectacular year this season. Today at Kraft Stadium the Liberty (F) great cracked his 39th roundtripper of the season and broke the league record held by the legendary Eddie Terry. The fans went wild and gave him repeated curtain calls for his historic blast. Speaking with reporters at the postgame press conference Torres told them how he was going to celebrate his new record. "I'll celebrate a little with my family tonight, but not too much. Gotta to go back to work tomorrow, you know." Ralph Torres homered off Ed Woods in the 1st. In his season totals Torres has 39 home runs and a .334 batting average. |
