Liberty (F) Befuddled by Davis
Friday, August 9th, 1991
Before the game Daniel Davis liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Gladiators pitcher whitewashed the Liberty (F) Knights 6-0.
Davis said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count."
The Mount Sterling starter held Liberty (F) scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 10 strikeouts and issuing no walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Knights manager said in his postgame interview.
"When that happens, you usually lose."
Checking out his stats for the season, Davis has notched 13 wins and 7 losses in 23 starts, 2.80 ERA and struck out 97 batters in 157.2 innings.
