Torres Gets 5 Hits Wednesday, August 7th, 1991 Ralph Torres put on a hitting clinic today as the Knights dumped the Cyclones 6-4 at Kraft Stadium. The Liberty (F) right fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Centerville pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch." Ralph Torres hit a solo-shot off Lowell Wintle in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. So far this year Torres is hitting .344 with 38 home runs. |
