Jefferson FL's Best of the Week Monday, June 3rd, 1991 27-year-old Dave Jefferson sent shock waves through Continental Baseball League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Federal League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Jefferson made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .471 average, 8 hits in 17 at-bats, 3 home runs and 8 runs batted in. Where the Fremont Tigers catcher goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Jefferson certainly made his mark last week. Jefferson is hitting .280 this year with 7 home runs, 24 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has 45 hits in 161 at-bats, 26 walks and a .374 on-base percentage. Jefferson has played in 50 games. |
