Jones Cracks Record-Setting Hit

David Jones of the Mount Sterling Gladiators has reached the top of the charts in baseball. He now has the most hits in a season -- a new league record. Jones put number 176 in the scorebook in a game at M&M's Field to pass the previous recor dholder, Jason Coffman. Speaking to the press after his record-breaking game Jones said, "Hitting a baseball is a God-given talent. I'm just thankful He blessed me."

David Jones grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd and doubled in the 5th.

For the season Jones has hit .348 with 25 home runs and 87 RBIs. He has played in 123 games and scored 82 times.
