Avilés Gets Injury Report Sunday, July 22nd, 1990 Since 07/19/1990, when he suffered torn ankle ligaments, Alfredo Avilés has been waiting. Waiting to hear how badly he injured himself during that day's game. Today word came down from the doctors that the Park City third baseman would miss 4 months. "It could have been better", said Avilés, "but it also could have been much worse." So far this season Avilés is hitting .263 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and 46 runs scored. He has 91 hits in 346 at-bats and a .325 OBP. |
