Dixon, Carney Swap Teams Sunday, July 16th, 1989 The rumor has been out there for a while now and today it was made official. The Liberty Giants have sent 35-year-old reliever Ben Dixon and 19-year-old starting pitcher Curt Micks to the Portsmouth Clippers for 41-year-old shortstop Steven Carney. Over the season, Dixon has made 51 relief appearances with 2 saves. He has K'd 36 batters in 52.2 innings, yielded 15 walks and has a 3.59 ERA. Dixon's record this year is 6-2. So far this year, Carney is batting .263 with no home runs and 5 RBIs. |
