Lewis Sets New Single-Season Wins Record
Saturday, August 27th, 1988
A new name has been written in the league record book. Bob Lewis of the Capital City Senators is the proud owner of the record for most wins in a season. He notched victory number 15 today at Arcadia Journal Ballpark, breaking the old mark set by Edward Davis. Philosophizing with the press after the record-setting game, Lewis remarked, "My game plan is to throw the ball as far from the bat and and as close to the plate as possible. The main thing I want to do is keep the ball off the fat part of the bat. I want to give the batter something 'almost' good to hit."

In 28 starts this season Lewis has gathered 15 wins while suffering 5 losses. He has pitched 178 innings, allowed 171 hits, struck out 130 and has a 2.38 ERA.
