Parker Puts Name Atop Hit List
Saturday, August 20th, 1988
He did it! Joseph Parker smacked hit number 163 in a game at M&M's Field today to break the record for the most hits in a season, held previously by Mike Pryor. The Capital City Senators star got a tremendous standing ovation from the fans. Speaking after the game Joseph Parker told reporters, "It was a great moment in my life. Times like that don't come around that much. I shall always remember it."

Joseph Parker hit a two-run home run off Gregg Scott in the 1st.

Thus far this year Parker has hit .323 with 25 home runs and 73 RBIs.
