Liberty, Capital City Make Deal Monday, July 4th, 1988 In an effort to add some depth to its roster, the Liberty Giants have swapped 28-year-old left fielder Eric Holmes and 20-year-old center fielder Allan Wagner to the Capital City Senators for 31-year-old left fielder Harry Cooper. The Giants GM told reporters, "We saw a chance to upgrade our ball club and took it." Holmes is currently batting .268 with 1 home run, 19 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 142 at-bats. Cooper is presently batting .283 with 8 home runs, 39 runs scored and 31 RBIs. His OBP is .389. |
