Carlson Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Portsmouth
Monday, July 20th, 1987
Park City triumphed over Portsmouth today 5-2. However, that was not the whole story. Patriots center fielder Jon Carlson failed to get a hit for the first time in 28 games. Carlson went hitless in 4 at-bats and had his streak broken.

Commenting to reporters at his press conference, he said, "Some days the past few weeks I carried the club, today they carried me. No matter what, it is always good to win a ballgame."

Carlson is currently batting .320 with 22 home runs and 76 RBIs.
