Carlson Hits in 25 Straight Games Thursday, July 16th, 1987 An opposing pitcher told BNN after the Newport-Park City game today, "Jon Carlson is hitting everything you throw at him. He is one tough out. Fortunately things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a 7-4 win. But Carlson still continued his streak." The Patriots center fielder now has hit safely in his last 25 games. He was 1-5 in today's contest. Jon Carlson flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI triple in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
