Injury Worsens, Return Delayed For Clippers Howard Tuesday, July 7th, 1987 The Portsmouth Clippers announced today that Pat Howard would be missing for longer than expected as the 27-year-old center fielder recovers from an elbow contusion. "Pat had been working out with the team recently, but felt some discomfort yesterday," the Clippers GM explained to the press. "After re-examining the injury, the team's medical staff decided that Howard would need extra time to heal. Their estimate is 4 days more recovery time." This year Howard is hitting .328 with 94 hits, 13 home runs, 76 RBIs and has scored 58 runs. |
