Bartlett Bags CL Best Player Award Monday, July 9th, 1984 His face might be sun-baked after all the years he's invested in this game, but 36-year-old Dave Bartlett of the Liberty Giants is still playing a kid's game -- and getting paid for it. The veteran catcher had a tremendous week and was named the Colonial League Player of the Week. Bartlett drilled 12 hits in 25 at-bats and 3 home runs on his way to posting a .480 average. He also knocked in 7 runs and scored 6 times. Looking at his stats this year, Bartlett has compiled a .279 batting average, while hitting 14 home runs and driving in 37 runs.
