MacIntosh Gets 5 Hits Tuesday, June 26th, 1984 It was a good day all around. Portsmouth whipped Newport 14-5 and Tim MacIntosh displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Navigators Ballpark. "Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Tim is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have." The 24-year-old shortstop for the Clippers collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats to get his name in the record book. Tim MacIntosh singled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. Batting .351 to date, MacIntosh has 2 home runs and 23 RBIs. |
