Newport's Bartlett Top CL Hitter Sunday, August 8th, 1982 The Colonial League batting champion for 1982 is the Newport Navigators catcher Dave Bartlett. He topped all the batters this season with a .346 average with 127 hits in 367 at-bats. In his standout year the 34-year-old Bartlett numbered 19 doubles, 1 triple and 38 home runs with 91 RBIs and scored 103 times.
