Giants Daniels Suffers Setback
Monday, August 2nd, 1982
Giants starting pitcher John Daniels has suffered a setback in his rehabilitation for a foot contusion. He was expected to finish treatment soon and rejoin the team slightly ahead of schedule, but now doctors will reevaluated him after he felt severe pain in a recent workout. The preliminary examination revealed more damage and is worse than the first injury. Anonymous sources in Liberty told BNN John Daniels would be absent from the roster quite a bit longer than originally diagnosed. He would now have to miss at least 4 days.

To date this season, Daniels has registered 21 starts, 9-6 won-lost mark, 4.10 ERA, 131.2 IP, 96 strikeouts and 53 walks. Opposing teams have hit .242 against him.
