Great Month for CL Rookie Sunday, August 1st, 1982 Youngster Mike Lyons emerged as the latest Colonial League Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Capital City deserved the honor, batting .293 with 2 home runs and 12 RBI. Is the month of July a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Lyons enjoy the limelight. Lyons is hitting .300 this year with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 30 hits in 100 at-bats, 8 walks and a .352 on-base percentage. Lyons has played in 24 games. |
