Beck Fires Shutout in Liberty Win
Monday, July 5th, 1982
Millard Beck of the Liberty Giants shut out the Irondale Steelers 7-0, stopped them on 3 hits and had 5 strikeouts and 3 walks in a strong outing.

After the game his manager said, "He just came out and was on the attack from the first pitch he threw. When Millard stays ahead in the count, he does well. That's the key."

So far this season Beck has a 8-3 record, 17 starts, 98.2 innings, 92 strikeouts and a 3.65 ERA.
