Injury Update for Irondale, Stewart Friday, June 25th, 1982 Lonnie Stewart will have to wait a while longer. The Irondale starting pitcher was informed this afternoon that he will miss another 6 months with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. The injury has kept him off the field since 06/24/1982. Though Stewart had hoped to return soon, he has no choice but to be patient. "Gotta stay focused," he said. "Gotta stay positive." In 17 starts this season, Stewart has picked up 8 wins while suffering 5 losses. He has pitched 110 innings, allowed 121 hits, struck out 67 and posted a 4.34 ERA. |
