Holmes and Bane Traded Saturday, May 29th, 1982 A trade was announced today at a press conference in Portsmouth. Not satisfied with their current roster, the Portsmouth Clippers general manager shook things up by acquiring 22-year-old reliever Tad Auriol, 23-year-old starting pitcher Chad Eaton and 20-year-old center fielder Brandon Bane from the Park City Patriots for 37-year-old reliever Larry Holmes. The Clippers general manager said, "We're a better team now. We've added several pieces to the puzzle." During this season he has made 25 relief appearances, earning a 0-1 record with no saves. In 31 innings Holmes has struck out 17 with a 6.68 ERA. |
