Irondale SS Larsen Suspended Wednesday, September 9th, 1998 Following an intense confrontation with the home plate umpire in which he was ejected, Steelers shortstop Conrad Larsen was suspended 4 games by the league. Larsen had to be physically restrained by his manager and appeared to make a few threats toward the umpire. He was upset by a called third strike in a game with Portsmouth at Arcadia Journal Ballpark. Larsen could not be reached for comment on the suspension. Larsen on the season is hitting .257 with 8 home runs. His stats include 48 RBIs and 59 runs scored. |
