FL Player of the Week Named
Monday, September 8th, 1997
At the age of 27, Raymond Richards might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Mount Sterling first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .360 batting average. For his efforts Richards collected the Federal League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 9 hits in 25 at-bats, 2 home runs and 4 RBIs last week in 6 games.
In the current season, Richards has put up a .317 batting average with 162 hits, 39 home runs, 92 runs batted in and scored 92 runs.
