Thompson Brilliant, Blanks Cyclones Tuesday, August 5th, 1997 Kyle Thompson of Park City (F) easily handled the Centerville Cyclones, stopping them on 5 hits and chucking a complete-game 6-0 shutout. "He really did a job on us," said the Centerville manager. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and pretty much confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us." Thompson said, "Everything was working for me. Throwing my breaking stuff over the plate was big." He finished the game with 5 strikeouts and no walks in a solid outing. Checking out his stats for the year, Thompson has racked up 9 wins and 6 losses in 23 starts, 2.82 ERA and struck out 98 batters in 140.2 innings. |
