Frazier Zeroes in on Newport Wednesday, July 30th, 1997 Eric Frazier of the Irondale Steelers was on fire against Newport. He shut them down 4-0 on 2 hits and no runs with 5 strikeouts and 2 walks. "The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Frazier said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that." In 19 starts this season Frazier has chalked up a 7-8 record and a 5.05 ERA. |
