CL Awards Best Batter Prize to Jackson Monday, August 19th, 1996 Joe Jackson went on a week-long batting spree against Colonial League pitchers and hauled in the Player of the Week trophy. The Portsmouth first baseman battered the opposition for 6 hits in 23 at-bats, 3 home runs, 12 RBIs and scored 3 runs. He hit .261 and posted a .292 on-base percentage. In 1996 Jackson has hit at a .232 clip with 97 hits, 21 home runs, 78 RBIs and has scored 55 times. |
