Hinojosa Gets July's Top Pitcher Trophy Thursday, August 1st, 1996 Alonso Hinojosa's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 4-0 in July, the 29-year-old Portsmouth hurler has been named Colonial League Pitcher of the Month. He fanned 37 in 37.2 innings, logged an ERA of 2.15 and allowed opponents to hit .194 against him. To date this season, Hinojosa has registered 22 starts, 10-4 won-lost mark, 2.56 ERA, 144 IP, 138 strikeouts and 44 walks. Opposing teams have hit .216 against him. |
