Cyclones Swap Molina to Gladiators for Boucher Sunday, July 28th, 1996 Centerville and Mount Sterling announced today in a joint press conference that 35-year-old left fielder Juan Jose Molina will be going to the Gladiators in exchange for 20-year-old starting pitcher Fred Morris, 24-year-old starting pitcher Lucas Phelan, 20-year-old starting pitcher James Jones, 22-year-old catcher Stanley McCarthy and 21-year-old third baseman Tex Boucher. "It'll be exciting to join a new organization," one player said. "Some of us could use a fresh start." The players have each passed physicals and are expected to report by day's end. A look at his current stats shows Molina with a .245 average, 2 home runs, 20 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has played in 46 games. |
