Plug Pulled on Méndez -- Skipper Fired in Capital City Tuesday, July 16th, 1996 Miguel Méndez has been released as the Capital City manager. The Senators say it is time to make a change and get the club headed in a different direction. The dismissed skipper was philosophical about his fate, telling reporters, "When things don't go right, the first thing management does is get a new manager. That seems to be the quickest solution to making things better -- or at least, making them seem better. That's just the way baseball is." |
