Patriots, Knights Make Deal Sunday, June 30th, 1996 It's being reported in the Park City (C) press that the Patriots have traded 28-year-old center fielder Davey Simons to the Liberty (F) Knights for 29-year-old starting pitcher Phil Church and 19-year-old reliever Ed Brown. However, there is no confirmation by the two ball clubs. To date, Simons has collected 76 hits for a .255 average. He has posted 17 home runs, scored 41 runs and driven in 48 runs. On his stats sheet for the year Church shows a 6-3 record, 12 starts, 89.1 innings, 59 strikeouts and a 3.02 ERA. |
