The fans witnessed Joe Jackson power his way into the record book with three home runs and propel the Portsmouth Clippers to a 7-1 win over the Liberty (C) Giants. He spoke with reporters after his historic day. "I've always loved hitting in M&M's Field. You can see the ball so well." For the day he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 5 RBIs. Joe Jackson flied out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Trent Gore in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Hal Phipps in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Robert Warren in the 8th. Presently Jackson is batting .274 with 27 home runs and 108 RBIs. He has played in 103 games and scored 64 times. |
