Tom Jenkins to Miss 4 Weeks Sunday, September 12th, 1993 Watching Tom Jenkins getting helped off the field today at M&M's Field, fans of the Liberty (C) Giants feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the left fielder will miss 4 weeks with shoulder tendinitis. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Jenkins suffered the injury making a defensive play in the game against the Clippers. This season in 115 games, Jenkins has hit at a .314 clip with 137 hits, 20 home runs, 71 RBIs and 88 runs scored. |
