Rehab Road Tough For Steelers Jerry Ball
Friday, September 10th, 1993
The Irondale Steelers announced today that Jerry Ball would be missing for longer than expected as the 29-year-old center fielder recovers from a herniated disc. "Jerry had been working out with the team recently, but felt some discomfort yesterday," the Steelers GM explained to the press. "After re-examining the injury, the team's medical staff decided that Ball would need extra time to heal. Their estimate is 5 days more recovery time."

In his 1993 season totals, Ball has 6 home runs, .231 BA, .288 OBP, 45 RBIs and 58 runs scored.
