Injury Worsens, Return Delayed For Lions Banks
Sunday, September 5th, 1993
Things have gotten worse for Alvin Banks of the Kingston Lions. The 25-year-old second baseman will not be back as soon as originally expected. Banks is undergoing treatment for a knee contusion, but his doctors have expanded his recovery time to at least 1-2 weeks. An unidentified team official told BNN, "Alvin tried to rush his rehab and suffered a setback."
In his stats this season, Banks has posted a batting average of .265 with 82 hits in 309 at-bats, 6 home runs and 33 RBIs. He has also scored 46 runs, walked 32 times and compiled a .350 OBP.
