Hit for Parker a Record-Breaker
Saturday, August 20th, 1988
"I just try to string enough hits together to help my team win." That's what Joseph Parker told reporters after today's game at M&M's Field. Parker strung enough hits together, in fact, to set a new record for hits in a single season with 164. Mike Pryor was the previous record holder.

Joseph Parker hit a two-run home run off Gregg Scott in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and singled in the 7th.

Looking at his season stats, Parker has compiled a .324 batting average and a .371 on-base percentage, while hitting 25 home runs and driving in 73 runs.
