Mount Sterling's Lewis Suspended
Saturday, June 18th, 1988
Following an intense confrontation with the home plate umpire in which he was ejected, Gladiators shortstop Ben Lewis was suspended 2 games by the league. Lewis had to be physically restrained by his manager and appeared to make a few threats toward the umpire. He was upset by a called third strike in a game with Irondale at Pioneer Park.

Lewis could not be reached for comment on the suspension.

Currently Lewis is batting .177 with no home runs, 8 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
