Newport Navigators Will Miss Playoffs Yet Again Saturday, August 2nd, 1986 For the 5th straight year, Newport Navigators fans will not get to see their favorite team in the playoffs. "At some point", said long time season ticket holder Greg Hopkins, "ownership needs to make a change at the GM and Manager position. I'm not even sure I will be purchasing season tickets again next year." Currently sitting in third place in the Division with a record of 57-57, the Navigators will clearly have to do better next year. It will be interesting to see if any management shakeups occur during the coming offseason. |
